In Extras, Orioles Beat Expos
|
The Baltimore Orioles banked on Marc Gagnon and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Montreal hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Orioles, in 11 innings. Baltimore reliever Alexander Ashman was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-1. Sean Thomas took the loss for Montreal. With the win over Montreal, the Orioles improved to 17-31.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the 11th, with the game tied, Yohan Roque was at the plate when Baltimore scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Orioles to go in front, 2-1.
"We did just enough to win," Gagnon said.
