A good performance from catcher Merandy Rojas helped the Round Rock Express defeat the New Orleans Baby Cakes, 5-3. Rojas was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Express. The save was credited to Ernie Longie, his 2nd. New Orleans now is 5-6.
Round Rock used a well-timed hit by W.C. Mosher to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Express ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Mosher told a Round Rock Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
