Cubs Topple Sounds, 4-2
|
The Iowa Cubs got a stellar performance from pitcher Fletcher Ray, who handcuffed the Nashville offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Principal Park. The win was credited to Zachary Sim in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Danny Lennox took the loss. Nashville is 4-5 after the defeat.
Iowa grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Ham Pieretti delivered a 2-run single, to make it 4-2 in favor of the Cubs.
After the game, Iowa manager John Sweet applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
