Sidewinders Winners, 5-1, Over Storm Chasers
|
Tucson pitcher Zane Mills did his part in helping his team defeat the Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Mills, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The save went to Jerry Henriquez, his 1st this season.
The Sidewinders had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the eighth. The score was 5-1, Tucson. But Omaha, with the bases loaded, had mounted a threat. Patrick Pollack dug in at the plate. But on a first pitch fastball, Pollack popped out.
At 7-4, the Sidewinders have played well so far.
