Starting pitcher Ross Yu did his part in helping the Round Rock Express thwart the El Paso Chihuahuas, 2-1. Round Rock reliever Trevor Vaughn picked up the win. Jeremiah Yurcak took the loss for El Paso. The loss drops the Chihuahuas to 4-7.

The decisive blow was delivered by Yadier Alarcon in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring triple off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Eldin Pierre to win the game for Round Rock. The home crowd went nuts.

"I like our mental toughness," said Round Rock manager Robin Fahy.
