Daum belts 2 home runs as Aces Drub Storm Chasers, 17-0
|
The Reno Aces firmly defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers, 17-0, at Werner Park. The Reno offense was lit. Stu Daum, for one, had a solid game. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Aces. Jayson Griffin got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 4. With the win, Reno improves its record to 3-3.
Reno got a big at-bat from Denver, Colorado native Zach Haase, who in the top of the third hit a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Aces ahead, 8-0.
Omaha manager Gary Tucker called the blowout loss "ugly."
