The Victoria HarbourCats had to overcome a fine effort from Sacramento pitcher Wade Evans to grab a narrow 2-0 win at River Cats Ballpark. Evans went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jake Hubay, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Thomas Moore got the save, the 4th for him this season.
In the top of the third, Gerson Jiménez hit a solo home run. The 2nd home run of the season for the Victoria third baseman put the HarbourCats on top, 1-0.
"Good win for us," said Jiménez. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
The victory makes Victoria 5-2.
