Expos Get Past Cleveland, 5-4
|
The Montreal Expos racked up a win at Olympic Stadium, bumping off the Cleveland Indians, 5-4, in 11 innings. Jacob Howard, who started for Montreal, pitched effectively for his team. Their 27-20 record puts the Expos second in the American League Sandoval Division.
The Expos got a clutch hit from designated hitter Regis Celestin. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Expos.
"Jacob gave us everything he had," said Montreal manager John Sweeney.
