The Omaha Storm Chasers inaugurated the 2062 campaign with a disappointing 7-0 loss to the Evansville Triplets at Werner Park. Evansville designated hitter Heath Rogers had a big impact on the outcome. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Alwin Rex earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in 7 innings of work.

With one out in the top of the third, Tyler Maio put Evansville in front, 3-0, with a 2-run single. The Triplets went on to win the ballgame.
