Pawtucket Gets 8-2 Win Against Barons
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox got a stellar effort from pitcher Paul Sutton, helping Pawtucket score a win over the visiting Birmingham Barons, 8-2. Sutton, now 10-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. With the win over Birmingham, the Red Sox improved to 76-60.
Brandon Yeager had a big 2-run home run for the Red Sox in the bottom of the second inning. With Pawtucket trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Mijail Kuester and swatted a home run to right. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Sox ahead, 2-1.
"It's still just a game," said Yeager, "whether you win or lose."
