Columbus Gets 4-1 Road Win
|
Ottawa got a decent performance from pitcher Roy Jetté, but it wasn't enough to beat the Columbus Clippers. Columbus won the Ottawa Ballpark contest, 4-1. Jetté threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Travis Alvey picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Roy Jetté was tagged with the loss. Kayden Mikhailov was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
Cal Lewis had a direct impact on the outcome. Lewis contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Columbus up, 2-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Columbus manager Gregory Edgar.
The Clippers, at 66-70, sit in 6th place in the International League Southwest Division.
