Parenteau Excels in 9-7 Columbus Win
|
Olivier Parenteau knocked in 4 runs to help Columbus beat Gwinnett, 9-7. The Cambridge, Canada native tallied 2 singles and 1 home run. The winner in relief was Marvin Raudenbush. He is now 1-5. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The victory gives Columbus a record of 68-66.
Parenteau contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Columbus in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-0, Parenteau took a curveball from Logan Gleason and stroked the home run to right. His 22nd home run of the season allowed the Clippers to leap in front, 3-2.
"Luck is a dividend of sweat," said Parenteau. "The more you sweat, the luckier you get."
