Chiefs Take Home 3-2 Win Over Durham
|
The Syracuse Chiefs defeated the Durham Bulls, 3-2, at Victory Field. Syracuse catcher Roberto Morillo had a superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Yunar Pedroza in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Nils Vanderbilt took the loss. At 70-61, the Chiefs claim third place in the International League Northeast Division.
Syracuse took a 3-2 lead on Jonathon Vasquez's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Vasquez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Durham pitcher Nils Vanderbilt visibly frustrated.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Omar Garcia.
