Barons Sneak Past Tides, 2-1
|
Coca-Cola Park featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Wilkes-Barre Barons got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jose Carlos Rosas, who muffled the Norfolk offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Barons win at Coca-Cola Park. Wilkes-Barre reliever Dennis Trujillo picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Ethan Henderson absorbed the loss.
Mike Brown was the walk-off hero for Wilkes-Barre. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Barons left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Tough loss," said Norfolk manager Justin Higginbotham. "This one will sting for a while."
The loss makes Norfolk 61-68.
