The Charlotte Knights got a superb performance from pitcher Jonathan Piper, but the Rochester Norsemen still won the game, 2-1. Piper threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. Rochester pitcher Hector Vásquez got the win, upping his record to 4-3. Quinn Falcon got the loss. The win makes Rochester 76-56.

When he batted in the bottom of the 12th, Luciano Silveira had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Charlotte pitcher Quinn Falcon was determined not to let him. But with one out, Silveira hit a sacrifice fly -- and the Norsemen had a suspense-filled triumph.

"We had a chance to win," said Charlotte manager Zhu Yu, "but we didn't get it done."
