Ramos Swings Bulls to 7-5 Win
|
The Durham Bulls and Gwinnett Stripers completed their game despite the inclement weather.
With first baseman Rio Ramos leading the charge, the Durham Bulls defeated the Gwinnett Stripers, 7-5, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Ramos, who is tied for 10th in the IL with a .487 slugging percentage, slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3. The defeat makes Gwinnett 69-63.
Wellington, Florida-born Lester Flores came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Bulls trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Durham on top.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Ramos.
