The Durham Bulls got a sterling performance from pitcher Clodoveo Castro, but the Columbus Clippers still prevailed, 5-4. Castro threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win belonged to Christian Cornelio in relief. His record improves to 7-8. Lucas Williams took the loss for Durham. The defeat makes Durham 62-69.

The Clippers were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 24-year old third baseman Bob Counts landed a big blow. He turned a 2-1 fastball from Lucas Williams into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Huntington Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Clippers home with a thrilling 5-4 win.

"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Counts.
