Clippers Rally to Nose Past Durham
|
The Columbus Clippers did just enough to sneak past the Durham Bulls, 3-2, at Huntington Park. Columbus pitcher Dudley Bennett, in particular, had a standout performance. Columbus is now 50-79, while Durham is 62-67.
The decisive blow was delivered by Judah Weller in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 32-year old right-handed pitcher Lucas Williams to win the game for Columbus. The home crowd went nuts.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Columbus manager Scott Manning.
