Columbus Tops Scranton, 5-1
|
The Scranton Dundies got a sterling performance from pitcher Cato Ambros, but the Columbus Clippers still prevailed, 5-1. Ambros threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. At 67-63, the Clippers claim 5th place in the International League Southwest Division.
Columbus used a well-timed hit by Marshall Schaefer to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Clippers ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Schaefer.
