Stripers Win with Late Rally
|
Thanks in large part to center fielder Kolten MacLean, the Gwinnett Stripers clipped the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-5, in 10 innings. MacLean went 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gwinnett reliever Jaxon Wilson picked up the win, raising his record to 5-1. Connor Carlisle was tagged with the loss. Jake Brackin nailed down the save.
This game was not decided until Anis Perry came to bat in the top of the tenth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, the Gwinnett third baseman hit a sacrifice fly. The Stripers took the lead, 6-5.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said MacLean.
Gwinnett is now 64-65, while Pawtucket is 62-67.
