Drive Suffer 4-1 Loss to Shorebirds

Delmarva picked up a win at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, bumping off the Greenville Drive, 4-1. Pitcher Don Kjaerluff was a major reason the Shorebirds emerged victorious. Kjaerluff picked up the win for Delmarva, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 10-7. Grayson Denton got credit for the save for Delmarva. It was his 1st of the year.
Neil Clifton, who is tied for 5th in the SAL with a .493 slugging percentage, helped out the Delmarva cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.
Clifton called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The second-place Shorebirds sport a record of 68-42.
