Columbus used a superb performance from starting pitcher C.J. Stowe to down the Lexington Legends, 4-1. R.J. Sousa, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 29th save. Their 53-55 record puts the Catfish 4th in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division.
Columbus used the timely hitting of Alejandro Lara to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Catfish on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Lara told the Columbus Observer.
