Intimidators Handed 4-1 Loss
|
Charleston RiverDogs pitcher Brendon Calloway was in fine form, leading his team past the Kannapolis Intimidators, 4-1. Picking up his 6th save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Andrés Collado. The win makes Charleston 44-61.
Frank Dean had a big run-scoring double for the RiverDogs in the bottom of the third inning. With Charleston leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Johnson Viele, who is tied for 5th in the SAL with a 1.11 WHIP, and swatted a double to right. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the RiverDogs ahead, 2-0.
"Makes our job easier," said Dean, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
