Bowling Green Tags Kannapolis with 9-3 Defeat
|
Hot Rods shortstop Julian Gillespie left his imprint on his team's 9-3 win over the Kannapolis Intimidators. Gillespie was 2-2 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 4 runs for Bowling Green in the contest. Bowling Green reliever James Duran picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Grant Pache absorbed the loss. With the win, the Hot Rods have a record of 51-52.
Danny Rogers had a big 3-run home run for the Hot Rods in the top of the sixth inning. With Bowling Green leading 5-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jared Seidel and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Hot Rods on top, 8-2.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Gillespie said after the game.
