The West Virginia Power took Rome pitcher D.J. Nakahara's best shot and still were able to claim a win at State Mutual Stadium. The final score had West Virginia getting past the Braves, 5-0. Nakahara went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 1. The winner was Wayne Kapp in relief. His record improves to 1-3. D.J. Nakahara took the loss. The 8th-place Braves now sit at 36-65.
West Virginia shortstop Jake McConnell helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.
