Ignition Beat Marlins, 3-1
|
Jason Stafford left his imprint on the 3-1 Indianapolis win against the Miami Marlins. Stafford, who finished 4th in the EAST in on-base percentage with .368 in 2046, was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. The Ignition lead the Eastern Region Great Lakes Division by 4 games.
One of the clutch hits for Indianapolis came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with no one out, Brandon Wright, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2045 draft, hit a run-scoring single to put the Ignition up, 2-1. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 3.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Miami manager Nick McCollough. "Obviously."
