A good performance from right fielder Josh Thomasson helped the Columbus Clippers defeat the Toledo Mud Hens, 10-7. Thomasson went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Clippers. The 4th-place Clippers go to 66-61.

Thomasson contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Columbus in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 6-5, Thomasson took a sinker from Melvin Beaston and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Clippers to leap in front, 9-6.

"Josh showed up tonight," said Columbus manager Gregory Edgar.
