Manuel Gari made an impact in the 3-2 Syracuse win over Columbus. Gari was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. The winner was Syracuse reliever Yohan Castillo, now 1-0. The loser was Yoennis De Los Santos. The 4th-place Chiefs improved to 68-59.
Gari had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Yoennis De Los Santos, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Chiefs a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Gari.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gari.
