Clippers Edge Syracuse in Pitching Duel

The Columbus Clippers used a great performance from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Noah Kimble to beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 1-0, at Victory Field. Columbus reliever Dicky Apreza got the win, raising his record to 9-5. Ben Paulsen was tagged with the loss. Dominic Vollmer, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.
The biggest at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 1-0, Clippers. With a runner on 1st and two down, Dominic Vollmer retired Jaxson Hall with a 0-2 fastball. Hall struck out.
Columbus, at 67-57, holds down second place in the International League Southwest Division.
