Dean Rips 2 Homers in 9-6 Win
|
Behind the hitting of Russ Dean, the Ottawa Oddballs defeated the Newark Bears, 9-6. Dean hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Oddballs. Carson Druckemiller collected his 16th save. At 54-68, the Oddballs claim 8th place in the International League Northeast Division.
Ottawa needed the clutch hitting of Damian Folkman to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Oddballs on top, 9-6. For the game, Folkman had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Folkman told the Ottawa Chronicle.
