Victory Pushes Wizards Record to 82-39
|
Starting pitcher Dominic Bates fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Orlando Wizards stymie the Columbus Clippers, 4-0. Bates yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-1. Orlando improves to 82-39 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.
Jaxson Hall had a big 2-run double for the Wizards in the bottom of the second inning. With Orlando leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Pablo Alcaraz and swatted a double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wizards ahead, 3-0.
"We'd like to put some distance between ourselves and the rest of the division," said Hall.
