Tides Top Clippers, 8-3
|
Columbus left fielder Theo Norzagaray had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Norzagaray went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Norfolk beat the Clippers, 8-3. Norfolk reliever Wyatt Boisseau was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Prudentio Chavez. Dylan Tully recorded the save, his 2nd.
Derek Clegg had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the fourth for Norfolk. With the bases loaded and the Tides leading 4-3, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Clegg told a Norfolk Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The Tides sit in 7th place in the International League Southwest Division with a record of 48-72.
