Chiefs Win 3-0 Walk-Off
|
Victory Field was the site of quite a ballgame.
The Syracuse Chiefs took Charlotte pitcher Eloy Soriano's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Victory Field. The final score had Syracuse getting past the Knights, 3-0. Soriano went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 7. Sebastian McLeod picked up the win in relief. B.J. Hart took the loss for Charlotte.
Syracuse got a clutch hit from Rodman Bryant. The designated hitter launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"You can't win if you don't score any runs," said losing manager Zhu Yu. "You don't need Confucius to tell you that."
The win hiked the Syracuse record to 64-51.
