The Tennessee Smokies rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher David Zappitelli to a win, beating the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 4-0, at Hank Aaron Stadium. The winner was Zappitelli. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Ryder Braunschweig. Tennessee, at 47-52, occupies 6th place in the Southern League Southeast Division.
Donovan DeBlock had a direct impact on the outcome. DeBlock contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Tennessee up, 2-0.
