Jacksonville turned a good effort from starter Peyton Thomas into a win over the Chattanooga Scouts at AT&T Field. The Jumbo Shrimp won the game, 6-2. The winning pitcher was Thomas, now 6-5. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The Jumbo Shrimp go to 55-44, putting them second in the Southern League Southeast Division.

Jacksonville used a well-timed hit by Clint Hewitt to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Jumbo Shrimp ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Thomas. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
