The Corpus Christi Hooks called upon starter Uriah Ludviksson, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Shreveport Engineers, 5-2. Ludviksson, now 6-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The second-place Engineers now sit at 57-41.
It could have been a different outcome for Corpus Christi, had it not been for Tony Cid, the 27-year old catcher . Cid contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Corpus Christi up, 4-0.
Cid attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
