The Pensacola Blue Wahoos weathered a fine game by Alexandria designated hitter Adam Penner to upend the Aces, 9-4, at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Penner went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. P.J. Mason, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in wins with 10, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 10-3. Lee Villegas locked down his 4th save.

Alex DeFilippo delivered a big hit for Pensacola. The center fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Wahoos ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"I thought we competed really well," said Blue Wahoos manager Bill Ortiz. "I thought the energy was really good."

The Blue Wahoos, now 49-49, have won 4 in a row.
