With first baseman Isaiah Howerton leading the charge, the New York Yankees defeated the Memphis Blues, 6-3, at Blues Stadium. Howerton went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. New York bumps their record to 20-25 with the win.

Howerton had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch sinker from Aaron Yeomans, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Yankees a 6-3 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Howerton.
