Mull, Suns Beat Catfish, 6-0
|
The Hagerstown Suns defeated the Columbus Catfish, 6-0, in part because of left fielder Kayden Mull. Mull was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Suns. Reid Knepper got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up no runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Hagerstown is now 50-49, Columbus 46-53.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Mull hit a 3-run home run off Warren Sutton. It propelled the Suns into the lead, 3-0.
In postgame comments, Mull told the Hagerstown News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
