Aces Best Biscuits in Pitching Duel
|
Solomon Cucchi, despite pitching well, was dismayed with the outcome: a hard-fought, 2-1 Montgomery Biscuits defeat at the hands of the Alexandria Aces at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The win gives Alexandria a season record of 48-47.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Luz Cruz? The Alexandria first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Aces on top, 2-1. For the game, Cruz had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Afterward, Aces manager Gil Mitchell was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
