Mariners Nose Past Los Angeles, 4-3
|
Seattle picked up a win at Dodger Stadium, bumping off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-3. Pitcher Rusty Tucker was a major reason the Mariners emerged victorious. Seattle is in first place in the Western Region Northwest Division with a record of 35-9.
Seattle used the timely hitting of James Victor to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mariners on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Tucker.
