The Portland Hops and Memphis Blues obliged fans looking for a good time.

The performance of Terrence Shrum proved critical in helping Portland beat Memphis, 8-7. The Hops left fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. V.J. Amador earned the save for Portland.

Independence, Missouri-born Jacob Cook came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Hops trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Portland on top.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Nelson Espinoza.

The Hops saw their win-loss record go to 17-27. At the same time, the Blues fell to 13-31.
