Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Chicago White Sox and New York Mets.

The Chicago White Sox locked up a win at Citi Field, knocking off the New York Mets, 5-3. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Roland Otano. He played a major role in the triumph. Otano picked up the win for Chicago, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.

Billy Plato had a big 2-run home run for the White Sox in the top of the first inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Carl McManus and punished it. The result was his 41st home run of the season, which put the White Sox on top, 3-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Plato said.

The win for the White Sox lifted their record to 92-70.
