Gerber Now 2-1 After Beating Blues
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the St. Louis Cardinals and Memphis Blues.

The Memphis Blues had to reckon with St. Louis Cardinals hurler Vic Gerber. Gerber, who is tied for 8th in the AL with a 0.98 WHIP, overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-0 Cardinals triumph. The third-place Cardinals lifted their record to 20-24.

Gerber gave St. Louis a solid start. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 6.2 innings.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Gerber.
