The Houston Astros put together a convincing win at Minute Maid Park, defeating the Texas Rangers, 11-1. Bill Thyfault was one of the hitting stars. He was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Houston. Jordan Dozier got the win, improving to 13-4. He held the Rangers to 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Houston's record now stands at 97-64, placing them second in the Western Region Central Division.

With Houston leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Thyfault hit a fastball from Sebastian Nodal for a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Astros ahead, 5-1.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Thyfault told the Houston News. "It's as simple as that."
