Toronto Wins, Rosales hits 2 home runs
|
Led by Axel Rosales, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New York Yankees, 6-2. Rosales was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Blue Jays. The save went to Justin Heffington, number 4 for him. New York has now lost 6 consecutive games.
Wyatt Moore had a big solo home run for the Blue Jays in the top of the fifth inning. With Toronto leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Jeremiah Jackson and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Blue Jays on top, 3-1.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Moore, "and then get after it again."
