Despite a great performance by New York designated hitter Pierce Baquet, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Mets by the score of 9-8 at Citi Field. Baquet went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. This win makes it 6 in a row for Baltimore.

Baltimore used a timely hit from Tracy Dyer to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 9-8. It might've been his only hit, but it did the trick.

Dyer told the Baltimore Daily News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
