Conditions were not ideal but Portland and Oakland were able to put their game in the books.

Portland rode a fine outing from starter Jefry Alcantara to victory over the Oakland Athletics at O.co Coliseum. The final score was 6-2. Justin Adkins closed it out for his 30th save.

Raymond Armstrong, the 30-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Armstrong contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Portland up, 2-1.

Armstrong called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
