In a low-scoring contest, Miami pitcher Cesar Mendoza was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Lee Shape was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 15 save opportunities.

Jonathan Lucas contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. His at-bat helped Miami get the win.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Mendoza told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
