Bunch Now 3-2 After Subduing Tigers

The Boston Red Sox topped the Detroit Tigers, 4-0, in Eastern Region action at Fenway Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston pitcher Wynn Bunch. The Red Sox raised their record to 63-95.
Bunch was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 3-2. In 8 innings of work, Bunch gave up no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 12. The Tigers were never able to generate much offense.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Bunch said.
