Orioles Drop Cardinals, 8-0
|
Baltimore picked up a win at Busch Stadium, bumping off the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-0. Pitcher Aaron Willis was a major reason the Orioles emerged victorious. The third-place Cardinals have dropped 5 straight games.
The Orioles benefited from an error in the top of the fourth inning. Baltimore was leading 1-0 when Phil Johnson hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Baltimore in front, 2-0.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Baltimore skipper Craig Lauer.
