Fresno right-hander Luca Boris helped his team edge Kansas City by the score of 1-0. Boris kept the opposing lineup in check. Woody Jones converted his 45th save in 50 tries. Fresno now has a record of 88-69 with the win.

Fresno took a 1-0 lead on Jude Meadows's 29th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Meadows hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Connor Perry visibly frustrated.

"Luca went out and did what we needed," said Fresno manager Pedro Alvarado.
