Rangers Come Up Short at Chicago, 4-3
|
Chicago first baseman Ben Waters played a vital role in his team's 4-3 triumph over Texas. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Chicago. Johnny Armour was called on to finish, recording his 9th save. The Cubs are now 83-73, while the Rangers fall to 77-79.
With Chicago leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Waters hit a fastball from Sebastian Nodal for a 2-run home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 4-0.
Waters attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
